Chewy Sourdough Granola Bars

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (discarded) sourdough starter

  • 1/2 cup raw local honey

  • 2 tsp. pure vanilla extract

  • 1 ripe banana, mashed

  • 2 cups thick cut rolled oats

  • 1 cup oat flour

  • 1 cup raw, sliced almonds

  • 1/4 cup sunflower seeds

  • 1 cup dried blueberries

  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 tsp. sea salt


Exchange fruits and nuts to your liking


Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.

  2. Grease a 9x13 pan with tallow.

  3. Stir together all the ingredients

  4. Spread evenly in the prepared pan and pat it down so it's even across the pan.

  5. Bake the bars for about 30 minutes, until they are light golden brown around the edges.

  6. Cool in pan on a wire rack for ½ hour before cutting


To Store: Wrap bars individually or store in layers with parchment in between. Can also keep in the refrigerator or freezer.
